DEP Releases 2022 Progress Report On Improving Water Quality In PA’s Portion Of The Chesapeake Bay Watershed

The latest update from DEP on the Chesapeake Bay Plan implementation includes the 2022 Progress Report summary that highlights actions taken over the last two years to meet Bay cleanup milestones.

Among the highlights are--

-- $220 million in PA Clean Streams Funding to support nutrient and sediment reduction using federal American Rescue Plan funding;

-- Increase in water infrastructure funding through the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law;

-- Expending technical assistance for animal waste systems, installation of riparian forest buffers and urban forestry, grass to meadow development, wastewater plant performance improvements;

-- Updating the NPDES General Permit for Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations;

-- Updating the Manure Management Manual Guidance Document; and

-- Updating the Stormwater Management BMP Manual.
