Foundation For Pennsylvania Watersheds Announces Grant Awards, Apply For A Grant

The Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds announced the award of $132,700 grants that will leverage a total of $1.2 million dollars.

The next round of applications are due February 20 and August 21.

The projects will lead to restoration of 800 linear stream miles, restore/protect a 22 acre reservoir, create 1.5 acres of wetland, and complement the $1,000,000 already invested in the Shoups Run Watershed.

The grants awarded include--

-- Allarm-$20,000 grant for a $87,200 project to provideWatershed Technical Assistance Funding to support the development of an online/interactive watershed planning tool;
 
--Anderson Creek-$11,200 grant for a $126,550 project tosupport development of a survey and design for the Smouse AMD project;
 
--Beech Creek-$3,500 grant for a $53,705 project tosupport design and permitting leading to a comprehensive reclamation of Carlin 26 site;
 
--Emigh Run-$10,000 grant for a $45,000 tosupport permitting and design of AMD with intent to restore Morrisdale Dam;
 
--Stream Team-$19,000 grant for a $89,555 tosupport continued basin monitoring for AMD, and development of organic monitoring plan;
 
--Mercer Conservation District- $15,000 grant for a $125,000 to support a project inStanley Snyder Park Development to develop a wetland addressing sediment and nutrient loading to Schollards Run;
 
--Mountain Watershed-$20,000 grant for a $370,000 projectfor a streambank restoration project in Indian Creek watershed. Project will restore 400 linear feet of stream and associated buffer;
 
--Shoups Run-$19,000 grant for a $355,000 project toprovide funds for emergency response alkalinity dosing; and
 
--Western Pennsylvania Conservancy-$15,000 grant for a $45,000 project inDents Run toaddress severe erosion and deposition along the Sinnemahoning.
